nero : hash of the gods

From the depths of Greek mythology, and inspired by the innate fascination of human ego and its desire for opulence, emerged Nero: Hash of The Gods – a luxury line of solventless water hash and rosin concentrates. Working closely with my superior at Pharmers, we took our shared passion for Greek mythology and transformed it into a brand that truly personified the phrase “godly.”

The brand name ‘Nero,’ Greek for water, laid the foundation for our venture into the solventless concentrate sector, symbolizing both our product’s essence and our shared cultural fascination. Its tagline, “Hash of The Gods,” was our playful nod to the luxurious and high-value image associated with these concentrates, akin to designer clothing or high-end automobiles.

The brand’s visual identity was inspired by an intricate dance between the aged mystique of ancient Greece and a modern, classy aesthetic. I designed a simple yet elegant vector style icon and selected a classic font set that spoke to both the timeless allure of Greek antiquity and the sophistication of the contemporary world.

After establishing the brand guide, I proceeded to create the packaging design, capturing the essence of ‘Nero’ in every element. The product and macro photography followed, each shot meticulously framed to highlight the unique features of our product line. The journey concluded with catalog pages and advertisements, designed to promote ‘Nero’ to its rightful status – the Hash of The Gods.

While the genesis of Nero was a shared fascination and collaborative brainstorming, the tangible form it took was a testament to my skills. I brought to life the design, the copy, and the photography, delicately threading the narrative of ‘Nero’ into each aspect. The end result was a brand that not only resonates with its audience but also stands as a humble nod to the passion and precision that went into its creation.
